    Description

This is a PHOTOCOPY of a Vintage mail order pattern to make a Baby Doll's Crib/Cradle. It includes instructions for the Cradle, Coverlet, Hood/Canopy and Pillow with the Lamb design for decoration. It measures 14" long, although it would be easy to make it longer. This pattern comes from a time when nothing was thrown out and everything was reused. So, it calls for materials like a fruit basket bottom and a mop handle. But, you can always substitute with wood items from the hardware store. The construction starts with painting the wooden pieces. Then you basically have a half sphere on each end of the cradle. Dowels (mop handles) are run through a long loop on either side of the fabric bottom and then attached to the half sphere pieces. Fabric also makes up the canopy part which is kind of like a big bonnet for the cradle. There are several good illustrations in the instructions and I think the pattern is easy to follow. I include a black and white copy of the instructions and the complete pattern. I have IMPROVED THE PATTERN by printing enlarged instructions for easier reading. It's just one more way that I am always thinking of the customer first here at MJs Vintage Patterns. Please email me with any questions that you have.
